Health Sciences Competency Profiles (FY2004)
The work of this project is developing and/or revising seven industrially-and educationally-validated competency profiles to be utilized by Missouri’s Health Sciences programs. The secondary Health Sciences programs that are two (2) years in length offer a variety of exploratory areas for students to experience. The competency profiles for several of these exploratory areas needed to be developed or updated.
The seven profiles developed are all exploratory areas under the Health Aide program:
- Respiratory Therapy Aide
- Pharmacy Aide
- Nurse Assistant
- Physical Thrapist Aide
- Animal Care Assistant
- Activity Director
- Radiology Aide
A committee made up of Health Science instructors and practitioners in the appropriate field guide the development of each profile. Project staff includes Dr. Nancy Fedorchak, Columbia Area Career Center, and Ms. Jane Scott, Joe Herndon Career Center, Raytown.
