The purpose of this project is to develop, revise, and validate the Housing, Home Furnishings and Equipment (now Housing Environments and Design) competency profile to be utilized by Missouri's Family and Consumer Sciences programs. The profile represents a high school-level semester course in the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) curriculum. Revisions will reflect the content and technological changes that have impacted this field since the original profile was completed in 1995.
A committee made up of Family and Consumer Sciences division staff, secondary FCS instructors, and content specialists in the appropriate field are guiding the manual revision process. Project staff includes Mr. Donald Scott, Project Director, University of Central Missouri, Ms. Deborah Pohl, Supervisor, Family and Consumer Sciences and Human Services.
