SkillsUSA PDP Teaching Aids for Missouri
Secondary and Postsecondary Programs (FY2005)
The Professional Development Project was designed to develop additional SkillsUSA PDP activities to supplement existing activities. In the initial project stages, Advisory Committee members advised that the project should be modified to focus on "how" to get the PDP into classrooms that are not using it. Both DESE staff and advisory committee members felt the PDP was comprehensive and additional materials were not needed. This modification has been made and approved by DESE staff, and the project is focusing on creating a three-five minute informational DVD that illustrates the importance of the PDP, and developing an instructor's guide to the PDP (chest-pocket quick reference).
The advisory committee, comprised of T&I instructors, health sciences (HS) instructors, administrators, general subject instructors, and DESE staff, continues to provide input into the development of the new deliverables. The project is being lead by Dr. Bart Washer, UCM.
