Web Design Competency Profile Development (FY2005)

With the continuing growth of the Internet and web-based information, a need for an individual competency profile on web design was identified by Missouri Business educators. Previous to this time, web design was incorporated into several existing competency profiles. The work of this project is the development as new competency profile in Web Design (CIP Code 11.0899). The profile will cover use of Web programming languages, graphics applications, Web authoring tools, Web design elements, Web page standards, emerging Web technologies and other topics deemed relevant by the advisory committee.

A committee made up of Business Education instructors and practitioners are guiding the development of the Web Design Competency Profile. The profile will also be validated by working professionals the business of web design. Finalized profiles and the crosswalks that will be developed to accompany them will be available for download from the MCCE website. Dr. Larae Watkins, MCCE, is the director for this project.
