Career Education Coordinators
Missouri's eight Career Education Coordinators (CEC) form a network of professionals who provide expertise and information for K-12 career awareness, exploration, and planning, as well as nontraditional careers. They support the state vision of all Missouri students having the knowledge and skills to make successful transitions to postsecondary experiences based on their educational and career goals.
To empower school districts to develop and implement a K-12 career development process leading to all students having a rigorous and relevant personal plan of study culminating in successful postsecondary transitions.
To achieve this mission, Career Education Coordinators will:
- Help districts and schools create and implement their K-12 career development process.
- Facilitate the System of Support for school counselors.
- Promote awareness, recruitment, and retention of nontraditional students in career education programs. This includes STEM and Breaking Traditions initiatives.
- Support the integration of Missouri Connections into the 6-12 career development process.
