New Counselor Institute is funded by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and is the cooperative effort of the Office of College and Career Readiness, the Missouri Center for Career Education, and the University of Central Missouri.
New Counselor Institute (NCI) provides school counselors with a Temporary Authorization a “jump start” into school guidance and counseling via an inclusive seven-day event that wraps around the MoACTE Summer Conference and incorporates NCI instruction into MoACTE sessions. Cost for attendance is $300. Enrollment is limited! Deadline for enrollment is June 30.

- High-quality instruction that focuses on implementing guidance and counseling programs in the school, delivering guidance lessons, initiating counseling sessions, and working with other professionals in the schools
- Registration to the MoACTE Summer Conference
- Membership in their MoACTE division professional organization
- Lodging at the University Plaza Hotel for the duration of NCI (double occupancy)
- Meals included: daily breakfast at the hotel, three lunches, and two dinners served at NCI
